The Public Safety Academy originally scheduled for the spring of 2020 has been postponed due to the impacts of COVID-19.

The Public Safety Citizen Academy is a free 6-week program for Wyoming residents which offers an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at the Wyoming Department of Public Safety. The academy is one night each week for 2-hours.

Participants will:
●  Meet WYDPS command staff, including Chiefs of Police and Fire
●  Go behind the scenes of Patrol Operations
●  Find out what it takes to run the Wyoming Fire Department
●  Learn the same use of force tactics taught to Wyoming police officers
●  See the latest in forensic technology
●  Check out special operations including the K-9 unit, TAC Team, and Motor Unit
●  Learn about police driving techniques and how officers utilize their patrol vehicle
●  Take a peek inside the Investigative Division

The Academy offers participants detailed insight into how our department operates and how we serve the community. It helps create well-informed community members who possess greater knowledge of public safety practices and services.
