The City of Wyoming is seeking a
motivated Information Technology Specialist to join the IT Department, with a
primary focus on supporting our Public Safety operations. In this role you will
have the opportunity to make a real impact by strengthening our Service Desk
capabilities, solving problems, and ensuring Police, Fire, and other Public
Safety staff have the tools and systems they need to protect and serve our
community.

range of municipal services—from Public Safety and Public Works to Parks &
Recreation, Finance, and Community & Economic Development and more. When

About the Role
As an Information Technology Specialist, you will support city systems, assist
staff with hardware and software needs, and ensure a seamless end-user
experience, with an emphasis on the departments and systems that keep our
community safe. Over time, you will build an in-depth understanding of the
technology used by our Police, Fire, and Court departments. You will be the key
point of contact for troubleshooting, resolving technical issues, and
coordinating with IT staff and vendors to provide effective solutions. You will
also help these departments adopt new technology and work more efficiently.
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering in-person,
over-the-phone, and remote technical support
- Managing help desk tickets, diagnosing
and resolving hardware and software issues
- Installing, upgrading, and
configuring hardware and software on desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and
in-vehicle technology
- Maintaining documentation and
standard operating procedures
- Participating in an after-hours
on-call rotation
- Following up with users to ensure
satisfaction
- Other duties and/or projects

Preferred Skills & Experience
We welcome candidates with a range of skills and backgrounds. The following are
especially valued:
- Strong computer literacy and
troubleshooting ability
- Experience with application
installation and support
- Analytical and problem-solving
skills
- Knowledge of ITIL/ITSM frameworks
- Excellent communication and
interpersonal skills
- Experience supporting Public Safety
technologies, such as in-vehicle/mobile systems is a plus
Preferred Certifications

- CompTIA ITF+, A+, Network+,

- Microsoft 365 Modern Desktop

The Information Technology
Specialist I wage range is $29.37 - $36.25 per hour. The Information Technology
Specialist II wage range is $31.96 – $39.16 per hour. Placement into the I or
II level and associated wages are dependent on qualifications and experience.
Employees are eligible for a pay increase following the end of the probationary
period.
