The City of Wyoming is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated candidates to fill an Office Specialist II position in our Public Works Department, which plays a critical role in maintaining and improving the City’s infrastructure, including streets and utilities.

 

The Office Specialist II is responsible for supporting the department by performing a variety of general and complex administrative support duties. This role involves handling a variety of tasks including customer service, invoice and payroll entry, and assisting with and coordinating special projects. The ideal candidate will be organized, efficient, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize and organize diversified workload. The candidate selected for this position will have the opportunity to build relationships with staff throughout the city and develop an understanding of diverse city operations.

 

Desirable skills for the position include excellent communication skills, ability to maintain discretion and tact with sensitive subject matter, strong attention to detail, proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook), a desire to work with the public in a diverse community, a desire to suggest process improvements, and the ability to accept/adapt to change in a multi-faceted, fast-paced work environment.

 

Candidates who are bi- or multi-lingual are preferred, though not required. Employees with language interpretation/translation skills may be eligible to participate in the Language Incentive Pay Program.

 

This position includes a competitive pay and benefits package including:

·         Four-day workweek (Monday-Thursday), 38 hours per week, which is considered full-time
