The City of Wyoming is seeking a skilled and motivated Assistant Director to help lead the City’s Information Technology Department forward for continual growth in the quickly evolving technological world. We are looking for more than just technical expertise – we are looking for a leader who can connect people, ideas, and systems!

 

Our IT Department supports the full range of municipal services including public safety and public works. As our next Assistant Director of Information Technology, you will play a key role in shaping a collaborative and strategic department to guide the City and departmental goals and objectives. In this role you will lead the day-to-day operations of the department and oversee projects that support the City’s infrastructure, systems, applications, and security while fostering collaboration and teamwork within the department. The scope of responsibility includes technical, administrative, and professional work such as coordination, management, and supervision of subordinate staff.

 

This role requires the ability to use tact, good judgment, and resourcefulness when working with internal contacts throughout the organization and with external vendors and providers. Strong management and leadership skills with the ability to coach and lead others are integral to this position.

To be considered for this position, the preferred candidate should possess job-related supervisory experience with progressively increasing responsibilities. Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field. Candidates with an equivalent combination of education, training, certification, and experience will be considered.

The wages for this position is $46.53 - $59.05 an hour or $96,782.40 - $122,824.00 annually. 

Effective July 1, 2026, the wages is $47.46 - $60.23 an hour or $98,716.80 - $125,278.40 annually.
