The City of Wyoming is seeking a Deputy Court Clerk to join the 62A District Court Civil Division. This position is best suited for a candidate with substantial court experience who can work independently, apply legal processes accurately, and manage a specialized caseload in a fast-paced court environment.

This role is assigned to general civil (GC) case types and is responsible for management of that caseload from filing through disposition. Duties include docket management, scheduling, case processing, customer service, cash receipting, correspondence, records maintenance, reporting, and review of court data for accuracy. The position may also serve as a lead worker or trainer and may function as a subject matter resource within the division.

Our Civil Division operates in a paperless environment using the State of Michigan’s MiFILE e-filing system, OnBase for document management, and Judicial Information Systems (JIS) for case management. Applicants should be comfortable learning and working across multiple court technology platforms and maintaining accurate electronic records.

The job description specifically requires strong technology skills, proficiency with case management systems, and the ability to learn additional programs related to the work. The position’s minimum qualifications include at least five years of responsible work experience in a court setting. The selected candidate must also possess and maintain LEIN certification and Certified Electronic Operator (CEO) certification or have the ability to obtain and maintain required credentials consistent with court expectations.

The ideal candidate will bring strong judgment, attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to handle complex court processes with limited supervision while providing excellent service to litigants, attorneys, and the public.

This position offers a generous benefits package, including:

  • 38 hours per week (full-time)
  • 12% employer-paid retirement package including a defined contribution and post-employment health plan
  • Comprehensive health insurance with no deductible
  • Employer-paid dental, vision, and life insurance
  • Paid leave time, including holidays, sick, vacation, and personal days
  • Employer commitment to education, training, and development
  • Free access to employee assistance program

The Deputy Court Clerk wage range is $20.31 - $24.81. The Senior Deputy Court Clerk wage range is $23.72 - $29.48. Wages for this position are dependent on qualifications and experience. For placement as Senior Deputy Court Clerk, the applicant must have prior court experience.

If you are passionate about public service and have the court experience needed to step into a senior-level civil clerk role, we encourage you to apply.
