In-Person Service at City Hall Temporarily Closed 11/03

Curbside Same-Day Registration
For voters who need to register on Tuesday, November 3, the Clerk's Office is operating a curbside voter registration. Follow the map below to register on election day. After you register, you'll have the choice to vote absentee or drive to your polling location to vote in-person. If you vote absentee, staff will provide you with an absentee voter application along with your voter registration application. If you want to vote in-precinct, staff will provide you a registration receipt that you can show election workers at your precinct.
About Same-Day Voter Registration
You can register to vote through Election Day
Since Proposal 3 passed in 2018, there is no deadline to register to vote in the State of Michigan. Michigan now allows Same Day registration. We always encourage voters to get registered ahead of time. A good place to start the registration process is the Michigan Voter Information Center and can be found at mvic.sos.state.mi.us.
What does it take to register? You must show proof of where you live. Documents must have your name and current address. You can show a digital copy of any document. Acceptable documents include:
- Michigan driver’s license or State ID card
- Current utility bill
- Bank statement
- Paycheck or government check
- Other government document
After registering, you can vote an absent voter ballot at the clerk’s office or you can vote at your polling place on Election Day.
To be eligible to register to vote you must be:
- A Michigan resident (at the time you register) and a resident of your city or township for at least 30 days (when you vote)
- A United States citizen
- At least 18 years of age (when you vote)
- Not currently serving a sentence in jail or prison
