Public Works interns perform general labor tasks. Hours are variable and based on the
internship model. Work will not be
performed outside the hours of 7am – 5pm, Monday – Thursday.
Duties could include tree trimming, road maintenance, sign
maintenance, vehicle traffic counts, hydrant painting, concrete work, asphalt
work, handling arrow boards, general shop maintenance, and other infrastructure
maintenance activities.
Candidates must be at least 18 years of age and possess a
valid driver’s license. Candidates must
be enrolled in the Public Works Academy at Grand Rapids Community College and
be able to perform manual labor while working outdoors in various climates.
