This internship position is an excellent opportunity to learn basic principles of municipal engineering and build soft skills important for working in the industry. Work responsibilities are split between the field and office. Field work may include inspection of city infrastructure, construction observation, and data collection related to traffic and water quality. Office work may include scanning plans, updating records, preparing minor designs, completing minor GIS (mapping) projects, and other tasks. This position will provide valuable experience in reading plans, understanding construction specifications, field inspection, GIS, communication, organization, and other skills.

The position is full-time, 38 hours per week. The work week is Monday through Thursday, 7:00AM to 5:00PM. A city vehicle is provided for any field work. Candidates must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license. Candidates must be able to work in various climates and operate light tools.
