The Wyoming Police
Department (WYPD) is seeking qualified candidates to fill a vacant police
officer position. Applicants must be MCOLES certifiable or currently certified
law enforcement officers with MCOLES certifications. Out-of-state candidates are encouraged to
apply and must be eligible for MCOLES Recognition of Prior Training and
Experience Program.
Experienced officers may

WYPD employs 103 sworn
officers and offers specialized unit opportunities including detective bureau,
K-9, tactical team, crisis negotiation, motorcycle unit, school resource
officer, Kent Area Narcotics Team, tactical bike team and more.
The department is one of 12
agencies in the State of Michigan that is CALEA accredited. According to the
international standard of CALEA, Wyoming meets 484 standards of professional
