The City of Wyoming Public Works Department is seeking a Maintenance Technician 1.

This position is an excellent opportunity for a new or experienced candidate to learn or refine skills. Candidates with all levels of experience are encouraged to apply. 

This role offers many opportunities to work in areas such as snow plowing, water and sewer distribution systems, concrete, and infrastructure repair and maintenance. Safety, training, and professional development are a priority at the City of Wyoming.

Depending on the job assignment employees will work with various specialized tools and equipment such as backhoes, salt spreaders with wing plows, hydro-excavators, and dump trucks. Employees also respond to emergencies and have overtime opportunities. Work is performed in individual or crew settings depending on the job assignment. 

In this role, you will progressively gain experience, learn to plan and prioritize a diverse workload, and obtain licenses such as a commercial driver's license (CDL) and water distribution license. The City pays for and trains employees to obtain and maintain a CDL and other licenses and certifications. Additionally, the City provides employees with safety boots and shoes, cold-weather gear, and uniforms.

The wages for this position are dependent on qualifications and experience. Employees are eligible for a pay increase six months after hire.
