Making Payments to the Court

Payment in full is expected at the time of plea or verdict. Alternative payment plans need to be approved by the judge at the time of the sentencing. Significant penalties are imposed for any late or missed payment.

Payment Options

The 62A District Court will accept the following payment types:

  • Cash
  • Credit Card
  • Money Order
  • Personal Check

Checks and Money Orders should be made payable to: 62A District Court. Credit Card payments must be made at the Court or via the internet. No credit card payments will be accepted over the phone. Only traffic civil infraction tickets, paid in full within 10 days of the issue date, will be accepted via the internet. To pay via the internet go to: e.courts.michigan.gov.

Please include your name and/or case number with payments mailed to the court or deposited in the drop-box. It is also recommended all mailed or deposited payments be checks or money orders. Do not use cash when using these payment options.

After-Hours Drop Box

An after-hours drop box is provided for those unable to visit the court during the normal 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. business hours. Drop box payments must be for exact amounts and made by check or money order. Exact amounts owed can be obtained by calling the court. No Cash Please.

The drop box is located at the east end of the building, by the sidewalk.

Non-Sufficient Funds Checks

If you issue a Non-Sufficient Funds Check to the court, you will not be allowed to make future payments by check. A $25.00 fee will also be charged for the returned check. In addition, your drivers license may be suspended.
