Absentee Ballot

What is the criteria for voting by absentee ballot? If you are a registered voter within the City of Wyoming and meet one of the qualifications listed below, you may obtain an Absent Voter Ballot from the Wyoming City Clerk's office.

  • You expect to be absent from the community in which you are registered for the entire time the polls are open on Election Day
  • You are physically unable to attend the polls without the assistance of another
  • You cannot attend the polls because of the tenets of your religion
  • You have been appointed an election precinct inspector in a precinct other than the precinct where you reside
  • You are 60 years of age or older
  • You cannot attend the polls because you are confined to jail awaiting arraignment

Request an Absentee Ballot

To request an absentee ballot, first check the criteria above to determine if you meet at least one of the reasons indicated to qualify for an absentee ballot. If you do qualify, then simply select one of the following methods.

  • Call the City Clerk's Office at 616-530-7296 and we will send you an application to sign and return.
  • Complete the request for an Absentee Ballot Application below and press send; we will then mail you an application to sign and return.
  • Send a signed, written request for an absentee ballot, stating the statutory grounds for making the application. Requests may be mailed to City Clerk, 1155 28th Street SW, Wyoming, MI 49509; faxed to 616-530-7200; or emailed to clerk_info@wyomingmi.gov.
  • Visit the City Clerk's Office and complete an application.

Please enter your full name and address as it appears on your voter registration card.

You may request to have this application for an absentee ballot mailed to an alternate address (i.e., winter address, school address, etc.). Only if desired, please provide the full address of the location you wish to have this application mailed.
